The news letter is early this week just to ensure that every one is informed on time about the upcoming programs this Thursday, Janmastami (Krishna’s Appearance Day) & Friday, Sri Vyasa Puja (Srila Prabhupad’s Appearance Day). See below for specific program details. We are inviting every devotee, member, guest & well-wisher to prepare something at home for Janmastami- preferably Ekadashi preparations (Ekadashi means no grains) - like a simple fruit salad, different types of fruit juice, vegetable preparations, sweet preparations or simple dry fruits & nuts, etc. We will offer preparations at 18.30 hrs. in the temple. Please note that no onions & no garlic should be used in any of the dishes. If someone brings grain preparations it will be offered the following day. If you are unsure about preparations, please contact the temple for advice. We are also looking for volunteers to render service for various activities (i.e. string raisin & dry fruit garlands, vegetable preparations, cleaning, etc) in the morning of 2-9-2010 - starting at 9 a.m.
Anyway…we have to inform you about yesterday’s Sunday Feast…what a day, thank you all so much for the wonderful association and participation in making it such a special occasion. Our very honoured guest, Dr. Fakir Mohan Das has such a great sense of humour; he never fails to get us all laughing and spread Krishna Consciousness simultaneously; he’s already 84 you know, just how does he do it? Many of us were lucky enough to have his mercy when he passed out pieces of fruit to lucky guests. We can understand why the temple was absolutely jam-packed; maharaj is such a wonderful personality. And then the Rotterdam crew complemented the evening with such a delightful feast…actually, I’m lying, it was more than delightful…it was deeee-licious!!! To top it all off…HG Bala Gopal decided to knock us all out with that amazing birthday-cake (Bhakta Errol & I are still trying to figure out exactly what taste it was)…talk about sense gratification, my taste buds have been doing overtime. Thank you again Rotterdam Crew; Bhakta Michel, Bhakta Miso, Ray Ramananda Das & Anushka. Also, many thanks to Bhakta Tim, Jai Nitai Gaur & Balaram Bosch for the bhajans & kirtan (and Krishna Das for the mike & cable).
For a nice impression, also check out Bhakta Michel’s You Tube channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/Haribol108#p/u/1/AoyDVUIxI3Y . Uploads are still ongoing so please check regularly.
Yesterday, HG Hari Krishna Das confirmed that he will be giving class for the Sunday feast this week, so expect another full house. We suggest you come early to avoid disappointment.
