Wow…if you didn’t make it, you definitely missed out on Lord Balaram’s Appearance Day. The feast was delicious…herbed rice with cashews and vegetables, spinach with home made cheese, dhal soup with pumpkin, shrikhand and to top it all off, sweet Varuni juice made from honey and fresh mangoes. Now remember, that was only the feast…but we actually started with the Arati. This was followed by an entertaining class; HG Paravidha Das was story telling about various pastimes of Lord Balaram. After the feast, HG Rati Manjari decided to entertain us with some extremely melodic bhajans, she was spontaneously accompanied by Uddhava on Mrdanga…what a great evening!!! There has been some really great feedback from guests & devotees alike.

 

This coming Sunday, we at the Amsterdam temple would be honoured to receive & hear from senior devotee Dr. Fakir Mohan, an 84 year old lifelong brahmacari from Bhubaneswhar (State Orissa, India). He will share his realisations and give a lecture at the upcoming Sunday Feast in Amsterdam. Our temple president Dhananjaya Das & Dr. Mohan have known each other for many years due to their frequent association in Vrindavan. The lecture will start 15 minutes earlier, at 16:45 hrs. Please ensure that you are on time so that class will not be disturbed. We are also again delighted to inform you that the Rotterdam Crew will be cooking this Sunday.

 Weekly Sunday Feast Program – Music, Singing, Philosophy Discussion and Vegetarian Feast 

• 16:00 - Bhajans - traditional indian Vaishnava music and singing
• 16:45 - Class - philosophy presentation and discussion with Q&A presented by Dr. Fakir Mohan
• 18:00 - Arati - offering to Sri Sri Gaura Nitai deities accompanied by music, singing and dancing
• 18:45 - Prasadam - vegetarian feast, kindly prepared by the Rotterdam Crew
• 20:00 - end
